To the dear family Ettinger, You don't need me to tell you how special Heinz was. I first met him at Hannover in 2005 and he fast developed into a friend, close colleague and - dare I say - paternal figure in my life. I have the fondest memory of many trips to different countries in which he guided and collaborated with me. He always asked for one more day than seemed necessary...and it was always the right thing to do. In Dubai he and Mrs Ettinger were so kind to me - inviting me to dinner on the evening before my departure...a glass of wine...and a shower to freshen up before the flight. This generosity of spirit, energy, dedication, passion for travel, culture, work and relationships are what I remember best of Heinz. I also remember his integrity - doing the right thing was important - a rare trait. He's one of those people whose imprint will last another lifetime and more. It was an honour to have known him and I extend to you my deepest of sympathies at this difficult time. Ben

Heinz was a special person, loyal, challenging, committed, fun. I learned a lot from Heinz, we travelled many miles together, argued and laughed with customers together. I learned and benefitted from his wisdom and experience, he was one of life's special people. May he rest in peace.

To the family of Heinz, and especially to Marlies, whom I had the pleasure of meeting some years ago, I would like to express my sincere sympathies on the passing of Heinz. Heinz had a very strong connection with many people from Cork, and my note here should represent all of those people to a great extent. Heinz's passing has caused us to make contact with each other over the past weekend . His passing has struck a chord with us all. Each of us can recall great times and experiences that we shared with Heinz. Thinking of him brings a smile to our faces. It will always be so. He will not be forgetten in this part of the world. J’ai eu le privilège de travailler avec Heinz chez Logitech où nous avons effectué des nombreux voyages ensemble. Heinz a toujours été un collègue très apprécié et par ses collègues et par ses clients pour ses grandes qualités d’homme droit et honnête.
