I met Michael on only two occasions. Each was memorable for me, each touched me deeply. Lest his great goodness over many years in being a 'father in Switzerland' to the young Irish Holy Ghost Missionary students, preparing, at the theological faculty of Fribourg, for their future as missionary priests, Michael and his home, his good wife and his children did immense good in an utterly hidden but very real manner. Just 4 years ago, one of those men, the late Fr Ray Barry S.S.Sp., while he was my guest in Lausanne travelled to meet and spend a day with Michael in Geneva.
