One of the great characters of ECIS and CIS has left us, but her memory will live on in the minds and hearts of the many teachers and students with whom she came in contact. Rest in peace Peggy.

I only got to know Peggy when she was about 90 and we met at meetings of the Beau Soleil Conseil Consultatif. Even at 90 she had a sharp mind and could remember things better than I could. At 100 she could still recall names and events that happened long ago. I particularly recall her telling me about her experience as a teacher in the east end of London during the blitz in 1942. What a remarkable lady and someone who it was a privilege to know.

With countless others, I mourn the death of Peggy Templeton Strong. She was a friend, mentor, colleague and the grande dame of international college counseling. It was my privilege to know and work with her for the last 24 years and I will miss her dearly. She will be missed by all who knew and were influenced by her. Peggy leaves an enduring legacy and will continue to inspire all of us in the international admissions and counseling profession.

A remarkable educator, wonderful teacher, visionary, and kind-hearted woman - the heart and soul of the Swiss Group of International Schools - has left us. Knowing her, she will continue to keep her watchful eyes on the schools and students she loved so much. Rest in peace, Peggy.
